In a firm rejection of ObamaCare, the Senate voted down the procedural motion that would have allowed debate to commence on the “Doc Fix” bill.
The “Doc Fix” bill was Harry Reid’s devious shell game to shift $247 billion from the cost of ObamaCare to a separate bill. In addition to fooling the public, the bill was designed to coerce and bribe physicians into supporting the overall concept of universal ObamaCare.
The White House and Harry Reid apparently thought physician support of ObamaCare would sway as many as 27 Republican senators to vote for this motion. The motion was soundly defeated 47 to 53 with a solid bipartisan rejection of ObamaCare. Sixty votes would have been required to pass the motion.
Harry Reid extended deceptive bait to physicians in an attempt to gain their support for ObamaCare. Physicians were led to believe they would not receive a scheduled 21.5% cut in their Medicare reimbursements. Physicians were told these and future Medicare reimbursement cuts would not occur for the next 10 years.
Buying and coercing the support of physicians, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies has not worked. Each of these groups has been duped by the Obama shell game, which pretends to give them money and a place at the discussion table for the short term. In the long term, each of these groups would become victims of ObamaCare.
Even though this was a major blow to ObamaCare, we still have a long way to go in order to stop President Obama from taking control of our health care and destroying our health care system.
The will of the people and the moderate Democrats remain our best hope in stopping the president’s frantic seizure of power.
