The Heritage Foundation says there are six major differences between the Senate and House versions of health “reform.”
- Who gets tax increases, and how much?
- What will be the mechanism for smacking employers?
- What will be the breathing tax (penalty for not buying government-approved health insurance)?
- Will a government-run insurance plan be implemented directly, or contracted to the private sector?
- How deeply will Medicaid expansion cut into state budgets and the market for private insurance?
- Will taxpayers be forced to pay for abortion?
